In A Swiftly Tilting Planet by Madeleine L'Engle, a companion to the Newbery Award winner A Wrinkle in Time and A Wind in the Door, the Murry and O'Keefe Families enlist the help of the unicorn, Gaudior, to save the world from imminent nuclear war. It is the third book in her Time gh this poem is cleverly woven into her book, she did not write it. Note from Joe: My first encounter with the following poem was in the book A Swiftly Tilting Planet by Madeleine L’Engle. Mathew has written a book, with a story line resembling “A Swiftly Tilting Planet”, going as far as to say, “There was also a unicorn in the story, who was a time traveler.” L’Engle refers to Mathew as a writer who “ had an uncanny intuition about the theories of space, time, and relativity ”/5(30). The youngest of the Murry children must travel through time and space in a battle against an evil dictator who would destroy the entire universe. Swiftly tilting planet by Madeleine L"Engle
